(this does not apply to Cheeki's Single Wall Products)

How does Cheeki keep your drinks icy cold or seriously hot for hours?

Firstly, we don’t use any plastics, foams or other materials to insulate, we literally use nothing. Vacuum in this context means a "space with no matter." So, how it works is relatively simple yet extremely effective. Our insulated bottles have two layers of stainless steel, an inner wall and an outer wall with a thin layer of air  between the two layers. (selected products feature Copper Lock Technology which you can read more here)This keeps the inside temperature different to the outside temperature.

To explain it further, stainless steel is good at transferring both cold and hot temperatures. For example, if you put 4-degree water in a single-wall bottle the temperature would transfer to the stainless steel very quickly making the bottle around 4 degrees. If the outside air is 24 degrees (room temperature) there will be a 20-degree difference and the bottle will start to equalise to the outside temperature.

Now, the double wall insulation simply prevents the transfer of hot and cold temperatures. When you pour your 4-degree water into the insulated bottle the inner wall will quickly match the water temperature. The outer layer will stay a room temperature and when you touch it you won’t notice that it’s has cold water in it. This is due to the layer of nothing or vacuum space between the layers that acts like a buffer. It prevents the cooler layer touching the warmer layer thus preventing the transfer of temperatures. Even if you put cold water in a black insulated bottle and left it in the sun the bottle on the outside may become too hot to touch but the inside will still stay cold.

This insulation isn't a cooling solution as such like a fridge it simply delays the temperature change of the contents inside.

Another great feature of our insulated bottles is that they will not become wet from condensation. Condensation occurs when humid air comes into contact with a cold surface and forms water droplets. With the outer layer never becoming cold it wont "sweat" keeping your work desk, dinner table and bag dry.
A little tip, this can have a negative when putting your bottle in the fridge to cool your water as it won’t unless you open the lid.

It’s simple, effective and safe. So, if you want to grab a bottle, coffee cup, tumbler or coffee mug that keeps your drinks hot and cold for long periods of time go the insulated. If you prefer a lighter bottle then go for the single-wall option.

Strong and durable, your Cheeki product is designed to be with you for life.  Look after it carefully and it will go anywhere with you.

Stainless Steel Products

Be sure to…

Take your Cheeki product and any accessories out of the box and give them a wash with warm soapy water.  Rinse all parts well, fill it with your favourite drink and enjoy!

Give it some daily loving.  Clean your product regularly with a small bottle brush and water.

Regularly clean it well.  Regular white vinegar is excellent for removing staining and cleaning the inside of your products.  Shake a couple of tablespoons of household white vinegar around the inside of your product and leave for a couple of minutes.  Rinse well.

Remove stubborn stains:  Mix two heaped tablespoons of baking soda with warm water and use on your brush to clean the inside of your product to remove stubborn staining and discoloration.  Rinse well.

Only use boiling or chilled liquids in the Cheeki insulated bottle.  This is the vacuum-sealed, double-walled bottle.

Please don’t…

X Put your products in the dishwasher.  Whilst Cheeki products are tough and durable, they are not dishwasher safe.  The high temperatures and chemicals in the detergents will affect the non-toxic varnish and paints on the outside of your products.

X Freeze your Cheeki Bottles. The contents will expand and distort the bottle.  Instead you can boost your chilling by putting ice cubes inside your bottle.

X Soak, wash or fill your products with boiling water.  This will affect the non-toxic varnish and paints on the outside of your products and may cause them to discolour and distort.  Only Cheeki insulated bottles can hold boiling or very cold liquids.

X Apply direct heat your Cheeki products in any way.

X Chemicals such as bleach or acidic beverages like fruit juice can detrimentally affect the inside and outside of your Cheeki product.

Lids

Be sure to… Prolong the life of your lids by hand washing.  The occasional clean in the top shelf of the dishwasher will keep your lids in good working order.

Please don’t… Wash your lids in the dishwasher on a regular basis. This will stress the materials unnecessarily and shorten the life of your lid significantly.

Neoprene pouches

Be sure to… Wipe down regularly with a damp cloth to remove general dirt.  For more persistent dirt, hand wash your Cheeki pouch with chemical free soap and warm water.  Rinse well and air dry.

Please don’t… Wash in the washing machine, tumble try or dry clean.  Allow the pouch to drip dry without wringing it out.  Do not use chemical cleaners on your Cheeki pouch or our planet.

Almost Perfect Bottle

I have been using my new cheeki bottle for a month now and can honestly say it is amazing - it is so sturdy and I love that it is insulated so my warm water stays warm till morning 🙌 the adventure straw lid is my fave for ease and is so much more hardy than my old frank green bottle. The only thing that I was disappointed about was the straw for the sports lid is silicone and on website photos it was steel, so I have ended up using my old frank green steel straw (which fits luckily) as I really wanted to avoid the water coming into contact with silicone/plastics (when using a straw lid).
